Basketball Recap: Parkland Comes Up Short

Parkland lost against Hanks back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Parkland Matadors took a blow against the Hanks Knights, falling 76-20. The Matadors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-9.

Hanks got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daisy Fernandez out in front who went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points. Fernandez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Nevaeh Moore was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Parkland has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Hanks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Del Valle the next time they take the court. Parkland will host Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Hanks will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
