Basketball Recap: Crab Orchard Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cobden last Monday, Crab Orchard came back down to earth. The Crab Orchard Trojans fell 65-53 to the Hardin County Cougars on Friday. The Trojans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Crab Orchard's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Hardin County, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Crab Orchard will take on Joppa-Maple Grove in a tournament on Monday. Joppa-Maple Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Crab Orchard likes a good challenge. As for Hardin County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hamilton County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hardin County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three games.
