Baseball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Grizzlies vs. Fairmont Prep Huskies

For the second straight game, Calvary Chapel will face off against Fairmont Prep. The Grizzlies will face off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calvary Chapel has three straight wins, Fairmont Prep has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Calvary Chapel had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Fairmont Prep on Friday. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 15-4 victory. Considering the Grizzlies have won four contests by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Fairmont Prep's part, Ryan Lee was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lee was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Kim, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Calvary Chapel's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Fairmont Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
