Softball Recap: Hanford's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hanford waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Southridge Suns get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on Friday.

Southridge's batters probably weren't too happy with Alanah Eagleheart, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up three walks). Eagleheart has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elle Cordero, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Neve Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Hanford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

Hanford pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Southridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Hanford nor Southridge have any future games scheduled.
