Recap: Orono Spartans vs. Providence Academy Lions
It was a good run, but the Orono Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by Providence Academy on the road and fell 72-38. While losing is never fun, Orono can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Providence Academy is ranked third).
It was another big night for Maddyn Greenway, who scored 31 points along with 8 steals and 6 assists for Providence Academy. The match was Greenway's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Hohenecker, who scored 16 points along with 4 steals.
Orono's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Providence Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Orono won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Delano at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Delano has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last four contests. As for Providence Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Goodhue at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
