It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bingham had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Fremont Silverwolves. Considering the Miners have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brecka Larson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Shyann Banasky was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Lemke, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Bingham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Bingham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Fremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.
Bingham will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Silverwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
