Football Recap: Oaks Christian Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Oaks Christian and St. Bonaventure, and St. Bonaventure kept the tradition alive. The Lions took a hard 19-0 fall against the Seraphs on Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Lions seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Even if they lost, Oaks Christian's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Alifeleti Tuihalamaka and Joseph Peko, who racked up four sacks between them. Tuihalamaka also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11.

The critical scores for St. Bonaventure came from Jason Homan and Jayce Franco.

Oaks Christian dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Bonaventure, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oaks Christian will welcome Camarillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Scorpions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Bonaventure, they will be playing at home against Bishop Diego at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
