Southeast has gone 9-1 against Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Southeast Golden Buffalo and the Northwest Grizzlies will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 6:00 p.m. Southeast is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Southeast is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by West to the tune of 84-17 on Tuesday. Given the Golden Buffalo's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Pioneers are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They snuck past North with a 42-37 win on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Grizzlies as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Northwest's win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Southeast, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Southeast didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Northwest in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southeast since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
