The Pawhuska Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Rejoice Christian Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Rejoice Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pawhuska, who comes in off a win.
Pawhuska will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Thursday, then bounced right back against Caney Valley on Friday. The Huskies blew past the Trojans 12-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Huskies' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Logan Cass and Corlin Cass made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Cass struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Corlin pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Logan has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Cass went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Corlin went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Corlin is becoming a predictor of Pawhuska's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 4-10 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Canyon Hindman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Pawhuska: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Kyler, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pawhuska was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rejoice Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 16-5 to Pryor. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 27th.
Rejoice Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Callen Duncan was another, earning two runs and one stolen base.
Rejoice Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Pawhuska, their record now sits at 8-12.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pawhuska has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Rejoice Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .490. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pawhuska couldn't quite finish off Rejoice Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 and fell 3-1. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
