Basketball Recap: Nantahala Takes a Loss

Nantahala was the 90-85 winner over Eastgate Life Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Nantahala Hawks took a 76-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastgate Life Academy on Thursday.

Nate Harbins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastgate Life Academy, going 13 for 25 en route to 39 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the most points Harbins has posted since back in February of 2024. GABE MOODY was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Nantahala's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Eastgate Life Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nantahala won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Blue Ridge Early College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nantahala is facing Blue Ridge Early College at the right time seeing as Blue Ridge Early College is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Eastgate Life Academy, they will take on Trinity Classical at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
