Volleyball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont lost against Shullsburg back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Braves lost 3-0 to the Miners. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Belmont took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16, 25-19.

Shullsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Woodworth, who had five digs and three aces. Those five digs gave Woodworth a new career-high.

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Shullsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Belmont will face off against Sun Prairie East at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shullsburg, they will take on River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
