Basketball Recap: Joseph Donohue's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakeland Christian over New Dimensions

After flying high against All Saints' Academy last Tuesday, Lakeland Christian came back down to earth. The Lakeland Christian Vikings took a hard 80-66 fall against New Dimensions on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-65 back in December of 2024.

Lakeland Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Donohue, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Donohue a new career-high in rebounds. DJ Howard was another key player, putting up 20 points and five steals.

Lakeland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for New Dimensions, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-7.

Lakeland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Dimensions, they will challenge Montverde Academy Gold at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
