Basketball Recap: St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Comes Up Short

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 52-31 to the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart Gators. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 324th in Virginia, while the Gators are ranked 51st in Maryland).

Sophie Stoltz was nothing short of spectacular for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart: she went 7-for-14 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Stoltz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Morgan Hueber also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, their record is now 14-8.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-27 victory against Madeira on the 14th.
