Basketball Game Preview: Mile High Academy Mustangs vs. Springfield Longhorns

The Mile High Academy Mustangs will challenge the Springfield Longhorns on Thursday. Mile High Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Mile High Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Denver Jewish Day, taking the game 51-41.

Mile High Academy found their leader in sophomore Addy Dodds, who posted 25 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Dodds is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Delanie Prowant was another key player, putting up eight points along with 13 boards and three steals.

Mile High Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 22 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Springfield ended up a good deal behind Stratton on Saturday and lost 57-38.

Mile High Academy pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points on average over those games. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
