Preview: Jackson Hole Broncs vs. Riverton Wolverines
The Jackson Hole Broncs will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Riverton Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Jackson Hole comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Jackson Hole took a serious blow against the Wranglers, falling 76-10. While losing is never fun, Jackson Hole can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Wranglers are ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, Riverton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their 12th straight loss. They took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lander Valley.
Jackson Hole dropped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.0 points per game. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Jackson Hole took a serious blow against the Wolverines in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 48-17. Can Jackson Hole avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
