Baseball Recap: Pickens Blue Flame vs. Palmetto Mustangs
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pickens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Palmetto Mustangs 9-8. This was payback for the Blue Flame, who suffered a 12-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jayden Ferguson was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Pickens is 5-1 when Ferguson posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ashton Woody, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Pickens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pickens will head out to take on Seneca at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmetto, they will head out on the road to challenge Christ Church Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
