Soccer Game Preview: Southern Guilford vs. Northeast Guilford + How To Watch

The Southern Guilford Storm will venture away from home to square off against the Northeast Guilford Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Southern Guilford and 13 for Northeast Guilford.

Monday just wasn't the day for Southern Guilford's offense. They lost 6-0 to Asheboro on Monday. While losing is never fun, Southern Guilford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Asheboro are ranked 99th).

Meanwhile, Northeast Guilford came up short against Eastern Guilford on Monday, falling 7-4. Even if Northeast Guilford couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Southern Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-1.

Everything went Southern Guilford's way against Northeast Guilford in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Southern Guilford made off with a 6-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
