Soccer Game Preview: West Cabarrus vs. Olympic

The West Cabarrus Wolverines will square off against the Olympic Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Cabarrus' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for West Cabarrus' offense. They lost 9-0 to Lake Norman on Friday. While losing is never fun, West Cabarrus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Lake Norman are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Olympic came up short against Ardrey Kell on Tuesday, falling 10-1. Olympic have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Olympic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2.

Everything went West Cabarrus' way against Olympic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as West Cabarrus made off with a 10-1 win. In that game, the Wolverines amassed a halftime lead of 6-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
