Basketball Recap: Marshall County Takes a Loss

Marshall County was the 35-31 winner over Cornersville when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 10-5 in the first quarter.

Zakiya Taylor was Marshall County's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Keriona Thomison took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Marshall County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cornersville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Marshall County will challenge Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornersville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Culleoka at 6:00 p.m. on December 1.
