Softball Recap: Apex Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Apex's offense. They came up short against the Willow Spring Storm on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Apex saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Kendall, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Kendall is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Willow Spring, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Coming up, Apex will host Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apex Friendship will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Willow Spring, they will head out to challenge Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cleveland 2.9, Willow Spring 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
