Basketball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. La Salle Academy Rams

The Barrington Eagles will take on the La Salle Academy Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Barrington sitting on 14 straight victories and La Salle Academy on three.

Barrington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Mary Academy-Bay View, who was ranked 12th at the time (Barrington was ranked fourth). Barrington walked away with a 48-36 win over St. Mary Academy-Bay View on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but La Salle Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over the Saints.

Barrington pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for La Salle Academy, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Barrington was able to grind out a solid victory over La Salle Academy when the teams last played back in January, winning 49-36. Will Barrington repeat their success, or does La Salle Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
