Basketball Game Preview: Thomasville Bulldogs vs. Lexington Yellowjackets

The Thomasville Bulldogs will take on the Lexington Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Thomasville was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to South Rowan.

Meanwhile, Lexington suffered their biggest loss since January 10, 2024 last Tuesday. They took a blow against Salisbury, falling 75-42. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Thomasville will have to keep a close watch on Jaylen Henderson and Kamari McDonald, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lexington's prior game. Henderson posted 14 points, while McDonald earned ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Holmes, who put up six points.

Thomasville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Lexington, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-7.

Everything went Thomasville's way against Lexington in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Thomasville made off with an 84-64 win. Does Thomasville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lexington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
