Football Recap: Lincoln County Starts off Right with Win over Rancho + How To Watch

Lincoln County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over the Rancho Rams. The Lynx's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Kavon Almaraz went supernova, rushing for 118 yards on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made one tackle. Another player making a difference was Daxton Donohue, who rushed for 37 yards and a pair of scores.

Lincoln County's run defense was locked in: Rancho could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. While seven picked up at least one total tackle, Almaraz stood above the rest. He rushed for 118 yards on only 15 carries, and also threw for 66 yards and two TDs. Lincoln County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Lincoln County, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Almaraz, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lincoln County has already played their next match, a 34-14 win against West Wendover on the 6th. As for Rancho, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Las Vegas at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
