Basketball Recap: Shreveport Homeschool Sports Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Isaac Gillman and Patrick Bennett

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports's game on Saturday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Force this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-41 two weeks ago.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Patrick Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Isaac Gillman, who posted six points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Gillman a new career-high in boards.

Even though they lost, Shreveport HomeSchool Sports smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Noland Episcopal Day only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day had a senior duo take command as Jackson LeBlanc scored 15 points and Jordan Buckhalter put up ten points along with six assists and four steals. Roy Washington was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 25-13 record this season. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
