Basketball Game Preview: Olympia Spartans vs. Pecatonica Indians

The Olympia Spartans will be taking part in a tournament against the Pecatonica Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Olympia came up short against Tremont and fell 81-72. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Turks are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, Pecatonica put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eastland 67-36. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season.

Pecatonica's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Olympia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
