Having just played yesterday, the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators will head out on the road to face off against the Jones Christian Academy Warrior at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf Pointe Latin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season.
On Monday, Gulf Pointe Latin got the win against Atmore Christian by a conclusive 67-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gladiators.

Gulf Pointe Latin relied on the efforts of Dean Fillmore, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Scarberry, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 21 points and 14 boards. Those 14 boards gave Scarberry a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Jones Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 69-63 to Full Life Christian Academy. The loss put an end to the Warrior's undefeated start to the season.
Gulf Pointe Latin will have to keep a close watch on James Simpson and Jhi Smith, a pair of players who had a big impact on Jones Christian Academy's prior game. Simpson went 12-for-19 on his way to 30 points and three steals, while Smith almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine assists. Simpson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Victor Randall, who posted 13 points.
Gulf Pointe Latin's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Jones Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Gulf Pointe Latin has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Jones Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 11.7 boards. Given Gulf Pointe Latin's sizable advantage in that area, the Warrior will need to find a way to close that gap.
Gulf Pointe Latin suffered a grim 62-39 defeat to Jones Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can the Gladiators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
