On Friday, Syracuse faced Lakin in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Syracuse Bulldogs were beaten by the Lakin Broncs 71-44. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Syracuse's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Lakin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Syracuse and Weskan will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weskan will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Syracuse surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakin, they will face off against Holcomb at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
