Preview: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Georgetown G-Men
Blanchester has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Georgetown G-Men at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Blanchester beat New Richmond 49-40. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Blanchester has managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Georgetown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Clermont Northeastern with a 57-51 victory.
Emily Bertram was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Gabrielle Ernst was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Blanchester's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12. As for Georgetown, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Blanchester lost to Georgetown at home by a decisive 57-41 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Georgetown's Morgan Preston, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
