Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Genoa-Kingston). They took down the North Boone Vikings 56-38 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Cogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cody Cravatta was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 78 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also threw for 103 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Genoa-Kingston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

North Boone lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eli Bryan, who rushed for 146 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Jaziah Howard was another key player, picking up 149 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Genoa-Kingston's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for North Boone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Genoa-Kingston will face off against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cogs will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Boone, they will square off against Oregon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
