Volleyball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

Phillipsburg was the 2-0 winner over Chapman when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Irish by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Phillipsburg was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Chapman work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-12, 26-24.

Kamrie Chestnut paced Phillipsburg's offense, picking up ten kills. Chestnut got some help from Chloe Jacobs and her 12 assists.

Phillipsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Chapman, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

Coincidentally, Phillipsburg and Chapman will both be playing Hays the next time they take the court. The Irish will host the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
