Preview: Shadow Mountain Matadors vs. Combs Coyotes

The Shadow Mountain Matadors will be playing at home against the Combs Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Shadow Mountain is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.

Shadow Mountain struggled with assists on Thursday (Paradise Valley had 1300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Shadow Mountain was outmatched by Paradise Valley on the road and fell 59-21. Shadow Mountain was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.

Brinley Lensch put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 8 points. She scored a full 38.1% of Shadow Mountain's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Hanna, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.

Meanwhile, Combs' three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They strolled past Coronado with points to spare, taking the game 38-22. The win was just what Combs needed coming off of a 88-21 loss in their prior contest.

Combs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heather Jo Bush, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jalynn Washington, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.

Lee Williams' victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Shadow Mountain's loss dropped theirs to 0-4.
