Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Takes a Loss

If Bloomfield was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Payne Tech last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bengals fell 7-3 to the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bengals of the 6-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sean Sayers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Bloomfield now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will face off against Belleville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, they will take on Newark Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
