Softball Game Preview: Lowell Red Arrows vs. Greenville Yellow Jackets

The Lowell Red Arrows will square off against the Greenville Yellow Jackets at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lowell comes in on seven and Greenville on three.

On Tuesday, Lowell got the win against Allendale by a conclusive 13-3. The Red Arrows might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Greenville nor Holton made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Red Devils.

The team relied heavily on Drew Galey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Alexa Hyler, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greenville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.

Greenville pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lowell, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Lowell took their victory against Greenville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Red Arrows have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellow Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
