The Jay County Patriots will head out to face off against the South Adams Starfires at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jay County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.

Jay County can't be too worried about heading out to take on South Adams: they just beat Woodlan at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Patriots never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Saturday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Carley Trinidad was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jaelynn Lykins was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Zoe Romine also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Jay County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .366 or higher in eight consecutive games.

South Adams hadn't beaten Bellmont on the road since May 9, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Starfires walked away with a 5-0 win over the Braves. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Starfires.

Jay County's record now sits at 11-1. As for South Adams, their record is now 11-2.

Jay County couldn't quite finish off South Adams when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
