Softball Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose entered their game against Minnewaska Area on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dutchmen fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 8-7. Dutchmen fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Lakers since Thursday.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Minnewaska Area, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Melrose beat the Lakers by a score of 9-3 later that day.
