Softball Recap: Potts Camp Wins Going Away Against Hickory Flat

While Potts Camp put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hickory Flat. The Cardinals blew past the Rebels 13-0. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by eight runs or more this season.

Alyssa Clifton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Potts Camp got a massive performance out of Harlynn Stephens, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Stephens a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Clark, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Potts Camp always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hickory Flat only posted an OBP of .231.

Potts Camp's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Hickory Flat, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potts Camp will venture away from home to take on Falkner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory Flat, they will square off against Myrtle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
