Basketball Recap: Dime Box Takes a Loss

Dime Box was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 66-44 to the McDade Bulldogs. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Dime Box saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ta'Niyah Auston posted 26 points. Auston's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chansidy Straughter, who had four points.

Dime Box's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for McDade, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dime Box will take on Fayetteville in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McDade and Rosebud-Lott will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
