Softball Recap: Tiverton Beats Central Falls for Their 13th Straight Victory

Tiverton extended their winning streak to 13 on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-0 in the process. They put the hurt on the Central Falls Warriors with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lia Doster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Sadie Pickering was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jersey-Ann Hastie, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Tiverton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in five consecutive games.

As for Central Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

On Central Falls' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LC Collins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.

Tiverton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against Mt. Pleasant on the 7th. Central Falls has also already played their next game (against Exeter-West Greenwich), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
