Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Fossil Ridge SaberCats

The Arapahoe Warriors will take on the Fossil Ridge SaberCats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arapahoe is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Arapahoe beat ThunderRidge 48-44.

Arapahoe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Smith out in front who posted 14 points and three steals. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Shumpert, who had 16 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fossil Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Greeley West 82-16 on Friday. The SaberCats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Arapahoe's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Fossil Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Arapahoe against Fossil Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 63-33 victory. In that contest, Arapahoe amassed a halftime lead of 36-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
