Soccer Game Preview: Hingham vs. Whitman-Hanson Regional

Hingham is 9-0-1 against Whitman-Hanson Regional since September of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Harbormen will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Hingham's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hingham is headed into the match having not lost since September 11 and will look to keep things rolling. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Scituate on Wednesday. Given Hingham's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Scituate are ranked 139th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Whitman-Hanson Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Pembroke.

Whitman-Hanson Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Hingham, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1.

Hingham was able to grind out a solid win over Whitman-Hanson Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Harbormen since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
