Baseball Recap: Riverdale Sets Scoring Season-High Against Legacy Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverdale). They walked away with a 17-14 win over the Legacy Christian Academy Lions on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Riverdale let Ashkari Arredondo and MichaelAngelo Garcia run wild. Arredondo scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Garcia scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Arredondo has become a key player for Riverdale: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Catarino Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his six plate appearances.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Riverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-8. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4-1.

Looking ahead, Riverdale will take on Parlier at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Laton at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
