Softball Recap: Porter Takes a Loss

Porter fell victim to Harlingen South and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Cowboys have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Porter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Cortez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Porter's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Harlingen South, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Coming up, Porter will square off against Edcouch-Elsa at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harlingen South, they will face off against Donna North at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
