The Lake Country Lutheran Lightning will be taking part in a tournament against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Country Lutheran is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Lake Country Lutheran's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Catholic Central. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.
David Nehls made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nehls was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Tetting, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jack Poellot was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Lake Country Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran entered their tilt with Winnebago Lutheran Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 5-2.

At the plate, Jack Schlueter and Cooper Kobin did most of the damage at the plate: Schlueter went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Kobin went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases. That hit was Kobin's first of the season.
Lake Country Lutheran's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, their record is now 5-3.
Fox Valley Lutheran's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lake Country Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. It's a different story for Fox Valley Lutheran, though, as they've only averaged .217. Will they be able to contain Lake Country Lutheran's hitters?
