Basketball Recap: Norwell Takes a Loss

Norwell was the 50-49 winner over New Haven when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Norwell Knights fell 53-41 to the New Haven Bulldogs on Saturday.

New Haven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DaMarcus Wright led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamal Lawrence, who made all 5 shots he took for 12 points and three steals.

Norwell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for New Haven, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Norwell has already played their next matchup, a 39-35 loss against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the 28th. As for New Haven, they will be playing at home against Columbia City at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. New Haven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
