Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hargrave walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Furr Brahmans a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Braydon Wisener made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Logan Gruber looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Hargrave let Dylan Martin and Bryce Nixon run wild. Martin went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Nixon went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Nixon has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Bailey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Hargrave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Hargrave's seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Furr, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4-1.

As of now, neither Hargrave nor the Brahmans have any future games scheduled.
