League recap: Quaye breaks off league-leading run for Elizabethtown

Lancaster-Lebanon 2 recap Sept. 26, 2012

Elizabethtown's Arthur Quaye recorded the longest rushing play in Lancaster-Lebanon 2 this season in his game against Manheim Central last week. Quaye ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 232 on the day as his team lost to the Barons.

Lampeter-Strasburg was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Pioneers vanquished Solanco 45-7 earlier in the week.

Manheim Central's dynamic duo of Colin Fry and Taylor Geib proved tough for Elizabethtown to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fry threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns and Geib had 63 yards receiving. Andrew Seiverling helped Manheim Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.

Mike Williams's team's Fry and Geib have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fry has thrown for 808 yards this season, while Geib, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 16 catches for 301 yards. Quaye from Mike Cottle's team leads the league in rushing with 430 yards.

A big matchup in Lancaster-Lebanon 2 this week will be when Cocalico takes on the Golden Mules. The Eagles are in second place, while Solanco is in fifth place.

Ephrata moved up to 422 from 482 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mountaineers were able to make the jump by beating Lebanon 41-13.
