Baseball Recap: Destin Takes a Loss

If Destin was feeling good fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Walton last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Destin Sharks lost 12-3 to the Cottondale Hornets on Friday. The Sharks were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Palmer Robbins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season.

Destin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cottondale, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Destin will be playing at home against Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Paxton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Destin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cottondale, they will challenge Arnold at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Arnold's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Cottondale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
