Recap: Monarch Coyotes vs. Silver Creek Raptors
If The Monarch Coyotes were riding high off their 44-11 takedown of the Greeley West Spartans last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Monarch fell just short of Silver Creek by a score of 27-24. The match was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but Monarch was just barely outscored by Silver Creek in the second.
Monarch's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Noah Hunziker, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Hunziker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Gray, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Cole Rogers, who rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns.
Monarch has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Silver Creek, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.
Monarch will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against Golden at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Silver Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
