Basketball Recap: Breathitt County Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Floyd Central, Breathitt County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-38 win over the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 64-30 victory the Owls / Lady Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Breathitt County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points over those games. As for Owsley County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

We've got a battle between Bobcats coming up. Betsy Layne will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Breathitt County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Owsley County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-55 defeat against Estill County on the 15th.
