Basketball Recap: Midd-West Takes a Loss

Midd-West lost against Halifax back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs lost 71-49 to the Wildcats. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Defeat or not, Midd-West got some senior leadership from D'Zani Coley and Logan Hollenbach. Coley posted 19 points, while Hollenbach shot 46% from the field en route to 13 points. Coley's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Midd-West's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Halifax, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Midd-West will venture away from home to square off against Montoursville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Halifax, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Susquenita at 7:30 p.m.
